The Storyteller and The Communicator. Sounds similar but we’re not exactly the same.

Let’s start with The Communicator, Elisa Ismail started her journey as a Public Relations Marketing Executive at KRU Berhad in Kuala Lumpur, assisting in managing and handling proposals for clients such as Perodua, Adabi, and GO KL, including working on the Youth Smoking Prevention Program for CMTM. Later, Elisa joined prestigious Public Relations firm Edelman Public Relations Worldwide Kuala Lumpur, followed by a position at DDB PR Sdn Bhd, before moving on to Volkswagen Group Malaysia. After a few years, this natural entrepreneur made the move to become a franchise owner and director of a Tumble Tots/IOP Preschool branch before later freelancing on various projects in a public relations as well as editorial capacity. Elisa graduated from Taylor’s University in Mass Communication with a major in Public Relations. Among clients she has worked with include Astro, AKPK, Bank Negara Malaysia, L’Oreal, Marie France Bodyline, Nu Skin Malaysia, Timberland Malaysia, Taylor’s Education Group, MNC Wireless Berhad, Kurnia Insurans, Miss Malaysia World 2004, and Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).

As The Storyteller, Zurien Onn gleans from her 20 years of experience as a writer and editor for various Malaysian publications to craft the perfect stories for clients. Starting from the bottom as an editorial assistant at CLEO magazine, Zurien has since then filled various positions from writer to editor, and even as a marketing executive, at publications both printed and online. These include publications in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, including magazines that were under the Blu Inc umbrella: EH!, Female, GLAM Jr., and seventeen; as a Senior Writer at Prestige and Editor of K-Zone magazine at Catcha Media; Deputy Editor at Going Places magazine under Spafax Sdn Bhd; Digital Editor for The Malaysian Women’s Weekly; and Editor of Convergence, the online magazine for Malaysia Airports. Additionally, Zurien has also freelanced at Lisa magazine, Her World, HerInspirasi.com, MSN.com, Yahoo.sg, motherhood.my and for the Tourism Malaysia website. She has also had stints as a Sub Editor at Harper’s Bazaar Malaysia, as well as experience as an Assistant Marketing Communications Manager at The Body Shop Malaysia. Zurien holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication (Hons) majoring in Publishing from Universiti Teknologi MARA, Shah Alam.
